There are many beliefs in the world today, but do these many beliefs line up with the Word of God? Some say I believe this way, some say I believe that way, but do these beliefs line up with the Word of God? It goes beyond personal belief, it goes from belief to knowing. How do we know? We have to read and study the Word of God. Then we will know if our beliefs line up with the Word of God. That’s what matters. John 8:32 (KJV) says, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 KJV
Let us not be so focused on the things of the world that we get conformed (Greek – to fashion alike, conform to the same pattern, fashion self according to), but we be transformed by the renewing of our mind by reading and studying the Word of God. We do see what is taking place through the media (internet, tv, newspapers, etc.), but our focus should be on God and His Word. This is definitely something that we have to work on on a daily basis, because it is too easy to get caught up in what is being said.
The Word tells us in 1 John 2:15 KJV,
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Let’s make sure our love is for the Father and not the world. Yes, we are in the world, but we’re not of it.
